From the designer: Rooster sparring at sunset. I painted this with acrylic an a board textured with plaster. A recent trip to Thailand inspired me to paint the roosters, being from New Zealand I decided to incorporate Maori Koru designs in the birds. The koru (Māori for "loop") is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace.
